do you think a cab or shuttle is better from the Las Vegas Airport to the TI(Treasure Island) Hotel.?

two people traveling. I heard that some taxi drivers might take the "tunnel route" without your knowledge and that might cost exxra money. Scared they might take advantage of 2 travelers going to Vegas for the first time
Me and my hubby just stayed at TI and also flew into the LV Airport. We took a cab there and it costed $20. But on the way back it costed $25. We took a different route back. So if you can afford that then go for it. We didn’t have any problems. The cabbies were cool. TI doesn’t have a direct shuttle to their hotel. Have fun. Love Vegas!!

There is shuttle service at the airport – its about 6.00 per person although you make several stops at different hotels – located outsidde the baggage claim
its a lot cheaper than doing a cab

First, the cab has to ask you if you want to go by the tunnel or street route.
I would take a shuttle, esp since TI has one. Call TI and ask how you access it at McCarren

Take a shuttle; it is cheaper than a cab and you will be riding with a couple of other people going to hotels on the strip.
I think this is better than a cab because you can also see where the different hotels are just in case you are interested in stopping by later for a show, meal, or casino. Then you will know approximately how far everything is from one another too. I always take the shuttle and never had a problem with anyone or anything.

even though vegas public transportation is not the best, taxi’s are just too expensive. i’d recommend the shuttle, unless you have tons of luggage that will be hard to transport

The difference between a shuttle and cab is going to be about $10 total for 2 people. With a shuttle you make stops at multiple hotels before you get to yours, so it can take a while. For me, it’s not worth my time to wait for other people to get dropped off, so I just pay the extra money since it’s not that much more.

A cab because it takes you directly where you want

A cab from the airport to TI will probably be about $20-25 depending on traffic at the time. We’ve been several times, and have never had a cab try the "tunnel" route. They can actually get in trouble for that, and seem to be aware that travelers are onto that. I doubt you’ll be taken advantage of.
You can get a shuttle for much less – about $6-8 a person, but it will take much longer because it won’t go directly to your hotel. The shuttles usually go in order of hotels , and TI is in the middle, so there will definitely be a few stops before yours.
TI does NOT have its own shuttle to and from the airport.

You should definitely take a cab. It should cost approximately $15 and take about 20 minutes. http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/taxi-fare.html
Tell the cab driver that you have never paid more than $15 to TI and he should take the shortest route and avoid the I-215 tunnel.
The shuttle lines are usually long and they make too many stops before getting you to your hotel.

Take the shuttle. Its cheaper, especially so if you buy a round-trip fare. Also you will be with others heading the same direction and you can ask others for tips and advice where to go.

Actually, neither. I would recommend using the CAT public bus system. They offer frequent transit service between the airport and The Tropicana and best of all, you can buy a 24 hour unlimited bus pass for only $2.50! Good Luck!

A cab might be a better deal! It will cost about 20.00 for both of you to take a cab to Treasure Island http://www.bestofvegas.com/hotels/Treasure-Island/
Have fun!

I’d do the cab. Some of my friends took the shuttle and it took forever because the shuttle made several stops at other hotels before they go to their hotel. Even if they take the tunnel, it’ll be $20 or less. If you ask me, it’s worth it for the time it will save you!

cab every time when I get in a cab I want to get to the hotel quickly the tunnel route can be quicker I tell the cabbie to take the quickest route. If he takes the tunnel he takes it, it costs more but can be quicker
