How long does it take to walk from Luxor to Stratosphere in Las Vegas?
October 3rd, 2009
It’s 3.87 miles from the Stratosphere to Luxor. I don’t know about you but I walk/jog on a treadmill and 3mph is walking & 3.5mph is walking very fast. The sidewalks along LV Blvd S are generally pretty crowded, and there are cross walks, pedestrian bridges and stop lights etc along the way. It would take you 1 hour and 20 minutes if you "could" average 3mph which I highly doubt. IMO it’s going to take at least an hour and 1/2.

Deuce $2.50 one way, $5 24hr pass
CAT – $1.25 one way, $2.50 24hr pass
Yes, you can use each to ride the other, with CAT pass they just charge you an extra .50c the first time you ride the Deuce and then they give you another 24hr pass.

It depends on how fast to walk, it took me 30 mins. Or you can get the bus, costs about $2

About 40 mins, it’s a long way – almost opposite ends of the strip.

Definitely over 30 minutes. And in that heat it is not nice.
Stratosphere is not really even on the strip.
Get a cab.

ok discount the first few posters here, Jack is right. Its the best part of 4 miles from Luxor to Stratosphere and unless you are jogging there is no way you could walk it in 30 minutes as most of the sidewalks are jam packed with people from Excalibur to Treasure Island. It takes 15 minutes alone to walk from Riveria just to the Sahara hotel!!!!!
It usually takes me about 15 minutes to walk a mile or about 6-7 minutes to jog a mile so it would take approx 1 hour+ to walk from Luxor to Stratosphere in normal circumstances without the distraction of the casinos and the people in my way.

60 -90 minutes depending how fast you walk or if you stop and look at the attractions and scenery on the way….and also how much foot traffic there is
i have done that before

From Luxor to the Stratosphere is about a little over 4 mile walk – which will easily take you 50-60mins (or longer depending on how many breaks you take). Keep in mind if you walk this during the summer days, the temps are in the 100-110s degrees – so you will get extrememly hot and dehydrated quickly – which may cause you to take longer than you think. When I walk from the south to the north end of the strip like you plan to do, I usually do it during the evening near sunset – vegas looks nice at that time and you wont die from the heat. Good luck and have fun. Hope this helps.

If you use the free train from the Luxor to the Excalibur, then cross the street on the walk over to NY, NY and then to MGM, and get on the monorail there, the whole thing should take 15-30 minutes.
I know you said walking, but I doubt you are going to walk the 4-5 miles between the hotels. You could also catch the Deuce bus which might take an hour or so.

It’s a very nice walk, especially if it is not extremely hot. I made that walk one morning around 6am and it took me about one hour and 20 minutes. If it’s crowded on the Strip, it may take you a little longer.

Its seems like a longer walk then the 4miles it is,especially in the heat and the bustling sidewalks, but at the same time its an enjoyable walk with all the obvious attractions.you could use the deuce bus service which is very regular every 5minutes,or use the monorail from the Sahara hotel near the stratossphere to the mgm grand which is opposite the luxor.
enjoy!!!

i was quite surprised when i read the first few answers who suggested 30 minutes – I wondered if those people have even been to Las Vegas. Definitely allow at least an hour, probably longer. The bus would be quicker but it does make quite a few stops along the away but you can sit back, enjoy the ride and watch what’s going on outside. They have some nice new double decker buses now which are great.

These are LAZY people!!!!! The walk is not bad. It is cool to see everything!! I live here & go down to the strip to people watch. The cab will take you longer than walking!!! Traffic is bad.

In the spring you can walk it (fast pace) in about 35-40 minutes if it is not crowded.
In the summer about 11/2-2 hours because you will need to go through the hotel/casinos to stay cool ha!
My self I would take the deuce it is $5 for a 24 hour pass, and its air-conditioned.
Have fun

Yeah, its 6.5miles from Maderlay Bay, the next hotel to the Luxor to the Stratosphere- it takes ages!
Rather you than me is my only comments.
I’d either get the bus, or pop across to the MGM Grand and get the monorail to the Sahara, in which case it’s just down the road when you get out onto the strip. It’s a lot more expensive than the bus, but faster and a nice experience.
And, if you don’t want to miss out the experience just walk from the Luxor to the Venetian/Treasure Island-Mirage and back again to see all the best sights along the strip. In my opinion in between the Venetian and the Sahara is a bit of a dump- the only good sight is Circus Circus but that’s set back from the strip and I’d recommend a separate trip to see it.
Have fun- it’s a brilliant place. I love it more and more each time I’ve been
