To give you an idea, me and my wife will be there this week from Thursday to Monday and I am planning on spending about $200 per day for the both of us. That will include two meals per day for each of us and drinks, monorail, etc. That, of course, does not include airfare or hotel cost. But unlike you I have been there many, many times and know how to do it cheaply. And I will still have a great time. Go out in the Fremont area it is much cheaper than the newer part of Las Vegas Blvd. and still a blast. Bring your own alcohol and have some drinks in your hotel room before heading out. No matter what you can get by in Vegas on a $100 per day or you can get by on $10,000 per day.
References :
I recommend $1000 for the 5 days for spending.

break down should be
$100.00 per day for food/alcohol
$200.00 for 1 to 2 shows
$200.00 for clubs
$100.00 for what ever (gambling)

There are a lot of free things to do, like walk the strip see the fountains at bellagio, the volcano at the mirage, show in the sky at the rio, sirens of T.I at treasure island, the gardens at bellagio, M&M world, etc.. you can check out www.vegas.com for more details.

When you gamble or if you are a gambler Drinks are free but if you want the waitress to come back to you i suggest you tip them $1.00 for each drink always ask for double shots!

If your going to watch shows like cirque de soleil, i suggest you buy tickets in advance, right now they have a special of bring a friend for $25 on their website. A really good deal! but it only runs til oct.31/09

If your going to clubs, try getting on the guestlist to get discounted cover for ladies it would be for free

try n9negroup.com for any of the palms clubs
theclubzone.com
freevegasclubpasses.com

I hope these work for you

My friends and I are headed to vegas in 4 days =)
References :
I go to Vegas at least twice a year

I went to Vegas for the first time this past Feb. with $500 and came home with $100... Although I didn't gamble one cent of it.... I spent it on food and drinks, cover at the clubs and even got a massage.... And I was there for 4 nights over the weekend....
References :
Not an easy question because it could be the most expensive place for you to visit or the cheapest place. It all depends on you spending habits. This page tries to help answer that question. Suggesting between $100 to $200 per person per day.
References :
http://www.myvegasbuddy.com/faq.htm

i have never been and dont intend to but you should bare in mind that most of the money you take will probably be lost or spent on alcohol... so it is up to you really.
how much are you willing to throw away?

It is important you set a limit of the amount you would spend in Las Vegas. You could spend all your money there. What is your tolerable limit? Say you have 10K and are willing to throw away 1K on top of the airfaire, bring 1K and have a swell time.
References :
It's hard to answer because it depends on what you want to do. If you're eating cheaply, not seeing a show, and don't plan to do much drinking or gambling, then $100-200 a day would get you by pretty easily.

But a nice dinner might run you about $40-50, a good show is around $100, you have to pay a decent cover to get into the clubs, and drinks in Vegas are pretty pricey. So if you're planning on that kind of a trip, with some gambling, I'd plan for around $300 a day.

That doesn't include room or travel, but it sounded like you were just talking of spending money.
