Imperial Palace Las Vegas Tower Room?
September 28th, 2009
anyone stayed in a "Tower" or basic room at Imperial Palace Las Vegas?
is there a coffee-maker in the room?
I stayed there. It is an awesome location for the rate. Love the Dealertainers. Also stayed at Planet Hollywood, and I take the Palace hands down. No unnecessary snootiness or expenses but still fun.
No coffee maker that I can remember. But if you say that someone needs to store medicine you can get a mini fridge for free.

I stayed there once and there was no coffee maker. Be advised, this is my least favorite hotel. For the most part, the rooms are old. In the first tower, the rooms are better but their is a show at Harrah’s next door that can go on until pretty late and can be annoying.
The casino is pretty bad and creepy. The elevators, for some reason, are the slowest in Las Vegas. On weekends you will often see lines of people waiting for elevator service. If you have a car, the parking lot is weird, too. Just make sure you find the rear exit. Never try to drive out or enter the parking garage on the Strip. The throngs of pedestrians will have you sitting for a long, long time.
The IP has a good location and low prices. Do not eat at the Buffet even if they offer it to you for free. It is one of the worst I have ever seen. The IP is owned by Harrah’s as is Harrah’s, Flamingo, Rio, Paris, Bally’s and Caesars. Compared to the others, the IP is low rent.
The pool is just a rectangle and is completely in the shadow of the hotel. My wife refuses to ever stay at the IP again even if the rooms were free. I didn’t think it was that bad. If this is your first trip to Vegas, you will not mind it so much because you have nothing to compare it with. But once you stay at one of the nicer hotels you will never be satisfied with IP again.
As for coffee makers or anything else, you can get one if you ask but service is slow and not very good. My wife insists on having an iron and ironing board but unlike other hotels, there is none in the room. We requested one and they brought us about the worst iron had ever seen and insisted on taking it back the same day. They would not leave it in the room.
The reality is, the other hotels are so much nicer, you get spoiled.
