Which is a better hotel New York-New York or the Excalibur in Las Vegas.?

The price difference is only $90 between the two with NY-NY being higher. Pool is important to us as well as the hotel rooms. Where should we stay?
I have stayed at both. I like the Excalibur WWAAAAYYYYY better!!! The staff was much nicer, more helpful. The rooms were in better shape, cleaner, just nicer. I will never stay at the NY NY again. Was not a good stay in that hotel.

They are literately across the street from each other so location will practically the same.
The main difference will be that Excalibur is more "family" oriented.

They are both properties owned by MGM. Excalibur is more family oriented. NYNY has more adult dining options and not as many kids. Both are at the far South end of the strip. I would go with NYNY of the two you are considering.
Flamingo is more central and has a better pool area. If your interested in European bathing if that’s something your interested in. If you stay at Flamingo get a GO room.

im staying at excalibur. if your going soon call to see if pool is open. Excalibur said it will be unless weather is bad. Flamingo closes end of Sept. Not sure about NYNY. if money isnt an issue go to NYNY. but im hardly in the room and i like to gamble at excalibur so we are going there since its cheaper.

new york new york. sometimes in the winter the pools aren’t open.

NYNY is the better and is a lot newer. One problem I am aware of is the noise from the coaster along the front of the property. The ride itself along with the screaming is heard in the rooms. Might consider that fact.

If I had to choose between the two, I will go for Excalibur simply for the price. You can get rooms at Excalibur for as low as $36 /night. http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/special.php
Trust me, most people spend very little time in their room because there is so much to do in Vegas.
Save your money and go for the $36 deal.

It truly depends on what you are looking for in a hotel. New York New York is the better property but Excalibur is a fine property with fine rooms and definitively a better price. They are next door to each other, so the location is moot. NYNY has more entertainment and restaurants for adults, Excalibur is more family oriented. But that said, it’s not jammed with kids as some people claim.
If you are looking for a decent room or a good location, you are fine either way. If you are planning on spending a lot of time in the hotel you are staying at, pick NYNY. If you want to save money, go Excalibur. They are literally next door to each other, with a connecting bridge, so the decision is very slim. I would choose Excalibur myself to save money.
