Any opinions on The Excalibur Hotel in Las Vegas?
October 24th, 2009
Going to Vegas for a couple of days but on a tight budget somewhat. This hotel seemed like a good deal for the price but not wanting to stay in a flea bag either. Any opinions would be great = ]
If you are going on a extremely tight budget, then Excalibur is ok. You really need to research your trip, and if possible play with the dates, to find the best deal.
Don’t let money be your only decision maker. If you plan to go to a few shows, for instance, try to book a hotel room/show package. Treasure Island has a special that includes 2 mystere tickets with a room purchase. My wife and I did this, with a view room upgrade, for not much more than the cost of a room at Excalibur. Even at Excalibur you can get deals. They currently have a "All You Can Eat Buffet for $25 special".
The quality of the hotel is only one concern you have. The strip is bigger than you may think, and you want either $7 all day unlimited Deuce Bus tickets or $24 for 3 day unlimited Monorail tickets.
If you chose to go with the Deuce, you can look at the possibility of staying at a Fremont Street hotel and riding to and from the strip. I personally think if you book between MGM and Palazzo at a 4 star hotel, you will be better satisfied. If Excalibur is good enough for you then you can also stay at Bill’s Gamblin’ Hall, Imperial Palace, and several others as well. If you want a better location and quality package, that sometimes is very affordable depending on the date, I suggest MGM, NYNY, Paris, Treasure Island, Mirage, or Monte Carlo.

Are you kidding… that is a classy and high quality hotel. Go ahead and enjoy yourself.
I used to go there although I was staying in MGM but it is not far from the MGM class.. and it is just a neighbor of other nice Casinos if you are in to Casino or bar hopping.

Excalibur is a budget hotel but one of the few nice budget hotels on the strip. It’s nothing to write home about but it will do. Besides most people spend very little time in their rooms anyway. The pool is great. They will charge you an additional $5 /day resort fee, just make sure you take advantage of the 2 free well drinks and Midway games. You are paying for them any how.

ya the excalibur is ok, heck i stayed at hooters for a week and going to stay there again for a friends bachelor party in about 10 days, hooters is a clean good resort, the staff is also friendly and its a low price also and right across the street from the mgm grand and next to the tropicana. its not a roach motel or any thing in that line.

Its a pretty good hotel, you will see alot of kids, dont know much but its close to the MGM grand, NYNY, Mandalay Bay and Luxor casinos by just taking the walking bridges across to casino to casino.. Casino area is very good! I walked out with $2,000 when i first went there! =)

You will love it. You have to remember that classes of hotels are based on other hotels in the area. It is no way as luxurious as Wynn or Venetian but then again it isn’t as bad as Circus Circus by any means. This is a resort and you will love it.

Excalibur is a nice hotel with a good location. It has also some really good rates if you are using a promotion offer. I would check http://www.vegas-hotels-online.com/category/excalibur/ for the latest Excalibur promo codes.

i hated it. The pool sucked. The rooms sucked. No tub. The rooms smelled funny. They were dark. The Casino is dated. Not a fan. But they do have a 24/7 McDonalds in it and the location is not bad. The prices have significantly gone down in recent years because its rapidly declining in luxury.
