Please include restaurants that are not buffets-I have to fit into my wedding dress!

That’s a pretty long list, but I’ll tell you what I know from experience. Any cafe should have reasonable prices and decent food.

Fremont Hotel (junk food there)- Go across the street to California Hotel and there is a Snack Shop downstairs on the opposite corner of the front desk. They have some pretty good food. Everything is cooked to order and reasonable. They have things like Japanese food (tempura, teriyaki), Chili (from Zippy’s in Hawaii), sandwiches, etc.

Ethel M. Chocolate Factory – If you go to any station casino, a few nearby, they have a food court type area with pizza, new york deli, panda express, ice cream place, quiznos, and a cafe.

There is also a mall nearby (Galleria at Sunset) that is really good (good prices and sales) and has a food court and some restaurants.

We also have L&L on Stephanie and Sunset near Target, which sells Hawaiian style foods like shrimp curry, chicken katsu, hamburger steak, mahi, etc.

Hoover Dam – They have a small snack shop. There is nothing really close by.

Luxor – At the Luxor, they have a food court where they have McDonald’s, some sandwich places, etc.

Caesar’s Palace – I’ve stayed there and I don’t remember any small places to eat, but they do have a mall where you can probably go to.

New York, New York has a lot of little places to eat.

Aladdin – The cafe (Zanzibar, I think), has good tasting food and wide variety. The eggs benedict is really good. I ate that for dinner a lot.

Tranportation McCarran Airport to Hotel on Las Vegas Strip?

October 24th, 2009

Posted by admin in Mirage Hotel Las Vegas | 7 Comments »

What’s the cheapest transportation method to travel from the McCarran Airport in Las Vegas, to the Hotel on the Las Vegas strip (specifically The Mirage)? Is there a bus route that’s easy to find?

Thanks

You would take the 109A South from the airport to the SSTT which is the southern strip transfer terminal. There you would catch the Deuce that will take you up the strip and it will stop in front of the Venetian which is across from the Mirage.

Las Vegas Hotel HELP!!! Treasure Island vs. Mirage?

October 22nd, 2009

I read that Treasure Island and the Mirage have the best Location on the strip? If so, which one has nicer rooms and would you stay at?

It will be our first time visiting Las Vegas in a few months and most people say,"a room is a room" but I always want a nice, comfortable semi-luxurious room, even if it costs a little more…
but the MOST important thing, i think, to factor in for us will be LOCATION…

Also, I read that The Venetian and the Wynn are more upscale and have nicer rooms…but are they located in the middle of everything on the strip? If so, is it worth the extra $ to stay at one of these hotles instead, and which one?
Also, we really want to know the best Casino on the strip, whether or not we stay at that hotel.

Mirage and TI are actually not in the middle of the strip anymore. With all the tearing down and now open spaces and under construction properties they are at the northern end of the bulk of the strip. See the map I attached. Mirage is a better property if for the pool alone. TI was built by Steve Wynn as an overflow for the Mirage which meant that people who stayed at TI were allowed to use the Mirage pool area. The rooms are much smaller at TI and even further to the north from the Mirage. The statement that they are next to each other on the strip is kind of confusing. Even though they are nest to each other it takes awhile to walk from one to the next.

Wynn and Venetian are really upscale from the others. If I were to spend the money and wanted the best location I would pick Bellagio or Caesars. For a less expensive choice I would pick the Monte Carlo. As far as best casino you don’t say what qualifies it as best to you. If you want better odds of winning I would pick Casino Royale or O’sheas. For luxury I would pick Venetian and for selection of games it is hard to beat the MGM Grand.

mirage or caesar palace hotel in las vegas??

which hotel is better?
the mirage of the caesar palace

and also, is the paris hotel good?

All three are good.

Cesar’s Palace is probably located in the best spot. They have lots of cool bars and PURE night club, which is one of the hottest clubs in Vegas. Also, the have the Forum Shops Mall which is another really cool place to check out because they have a lot of free shows there.

The Mirage has kind of an island theme, and they have JET night club, which is actually pretty lame.

The Paris is a nice hotel, but is boring, there isn’t really anything cool to see there.

Out of those three I like Cesar’s the best.

We will be staying in las vegas mid July, going with my girlfriend and we narrowed two choices mgm or mirage deluxe rooms. Which one would be better to stay at as far as room quality and hotel quality. Which one is more conviently located where most of everything is? ie shops, clubs….

Rooms. Both rooms are very nice and comparable in size. The Mirage rooms are a more contemporary style, while the MGM is more elegant.. I’d say the MGM rooms are very slightly better. But that’s just personal preference.

Pools. Both have nice pools.. MGMs is bigger and again a little better, imo.

Both are AAA 4 Diamond hotels, so they’re very comparable when it comes to service, amenities and accommodations..

The Mirage is in a much better location. Next to Caesars Palace & Treasure Island and across the street from The Venetian. It has faster access to those hotels, The Wynn, The Bellagio and The Flamingo. MGM shares that corner with the NY,NY, Excalibur and Tropicana.. With easier access to The Luxor, Mandalay Bay, Monte Carlo and Planet Hollywood.

The Mirage has the much better club (Jet), compared to Studio 54 at MGM Grand. And it’s closer to most of the major clubs. Tao @ The Venetian, Tryst @ The Wynn, Pure @ Caesars Palace and the new club (opening next weekend) Christian Audigier @ Treasure Island. The only major club down by the MGM is LAX @ The Luxor.

The Mirage is also closer to the best shopping. The Forum Shops @ Caesars Palaces and The Fashion Show Mall are close. MGM Grand is slightly closer to The Miracle Mile Shops @ Planet Hollywood. Those are the 3 best places to shop on the strip.

Both have a Cirque du Soleil show. Love @ The Mirage (based on Beatles songs) and KA @ MGM Grand.

In the end, I’d stay at The Mirage because it’s location is much better without compromising the niceness of the hotel.
