Las Vegas?

Okay my sister is going to Las Vegas and she wants me to ask you guys some questions about it. Has anyone ever stayed in the Mirage hotel in Las Vegas? if so does it have a pool? Is it nice inside? Do you have any pics if so that would be nice. Thankssss :]

Mirage is a very nice hotel. Like mentioned before, it is near the Treasure Island Casino (TI), Caesar’s Palace and across from the Venetian. So it is very easy to go to other nice casinos and see some of the most popular sites and shows.

The Mirage has a pretty good nightclub, JET, but across from it is Tao at Venetian and nextdoor is the popular PURE nightclub at Caesar’s. As far as food goes, there is a greeeeeat buffet at the Mirage, Cravings. It has a very wide selection of foods and it even has its own gelato serving station where you can get all the gelato you want. There is also a very delicious Brazilian Steakhouse and other nice smaller venues like Carnieges.

Overall the casino floor, with its large amount of gaming tables and poker room make for a good gambling experience too. It has many "free" attractions such as a dolphin habitat and the pool is pretty big and provides some shade too (which not all vegas casinos provide).

Overall, the Mirage is a great casino, especially for the price. Include the fact that its right next to some of the best casinos in vegas (even bellagio is only 2 casinos away), it makes for a good experience without having to pay high-end prices for a room.

Have fun, good luck, and hope you guys find the Mirage as fun and nice as I did when I stayed there a few years ago.

What is the best hotel in Las Vegas?

November 13th, 2009

I need a hotel on the strip. I already stayed at the Mirage and it was awesome. But I must of stayed there at least 20 times. I’m looking for a change now.

Steve Wynn created the Mirage and was the premier hotel for many years. Now he has created the Wynn and Encore. So if you like the Mirage you will love the Wynn/Encore. Check them out here on this site.

Should I stay at New York-New York or The Mirage in Las Vegas?

November 7th, 2009

Posted by admin in Mirage Hotel Las Vegas | 9 Comments »

My family is going to Vegas and we are in a dilemma over which hotel to stay at. Both are on opposite ends of the strip and each have their pros and cons for us. It’s difficult to decide. From your experiences, which is the better hotel in terms of rooms, location, attractions, and just overall as a hotel? Help would be greatly appreciated.
These two are the hotels that we chose as candidates to stay at.

NYNY is the newer of the two properties. It is on the busiest corner in Vegas. So much to do right there on that corner and close to it. I would choose NYNY. But no matter which one you choose it will be great. Flip a coin.

Could anyone tell me about the following Las Vegas hotels?

November 4th, 2009

I asked before but i wanna ask again:

Excalibur
Planet Hollywood Resort
Monte Carlo Resort
Treasure Island
Paris Las Vegas
Mirage
The Venetian
Bellagio
Wynn
MGM

In terms of prices, room quality, convenience (to airport and casinos), etc.
In regards to the casinos, I’m only interested in playing poker, so I’m looking for casinos that have lots of poker tables.

Well Wynn would have the best poker but also the highest limits. Also, same for the Bellagio. The Bellagio has a great poker room and poker tournaments are held their often. Forget the Excalibur, Planet Hollywood aka Aladdin, Treasure Island, Paris, Monte Carlo-they just have the standard gaming floor. They have poker but are not known for their poker room. MGM has a large gaming floor, not bad, good for average players and has a high roller room. I am not a fan of the Venetian because they do not treat the guests well, even at the tables. Mirage is also good for table games. Best place before the Bellagio and now the Wynn but the Mirage is good and decent room prices.

Every hotel/casino has shuttles to the hotels to and from the airport. They are all on the Las Vegas Strip. The furtherest from the airport is the Wynn but just by one block. MGM owns Exacalibur (the cheapest place to stay on your list), Treasure Island-TI, Mirage, Bellagio and the MGM-same airport shuttle for all.

If I had to reccomend any of these places to stay and you are just on an average budget I would choose the Mirage or Paris. If you have no budget the Wynn or Bellagio and if you want the cheapest the Excalibur.

The center of the Strip would be the Bellagio, Paris, Mirage and TI. MGM and Excalibur at the beginning. Plan to do a lot of walking or taxis if you stay at those two.

In Las Vegas, if you live in Mirage hotel, and you want to go to Manadalay bay hotel pool, can you go?

Any consequences, any danger

It may be a policy that you can’t, but really, unless they check at the gate, how would they know the difference?
Besides, a lot of the casinos there like to get the guests in the doors and that could be one way, just tell them you gamble a lot there if someone asks :)

Mirage Hotel

Recorded April 28, 1998.

The Mirage is a 3,044 room hotel and casino resort located on the Las Vegas Strip. The Mirage is connected by a free tram to Treasure Island, its sister property immediately to the north. The marquee in front of The Mirage is the largest free standing marquee in the world. The Mirage was built by developer Steve Wynn and opened in November 1989 on the former grounds of the Castaways hotel and casino.

The Mirage was the most expensive hotel/casino in history, with a construction cost of $630 million. The hotel’s distinctive gold windows get their color from actual gold used in the tinting process. It was reported that the resort would have to bring in a million dollars a day to pay off a 7-year construction loan. But in fact The Mirage did so well, the loan was paid off in just 18 months.

This video begins with my visit to the Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat and then concludes at sunset as I watch the artificial volcano along the Strip that “erupts” nightly from 5 pm – 11 pm on the hour.

MIRAGE NEW VOLCANO PREMIERES ON THE LAS VEGAS STRIP

October 29th, 2009

Posted by admin in Mirage Hotel Las Vegas | 9 Comments »

YOUTUBE.COM/SBARTSTV BREAKING GLOBAL NEWS MIRAGE NEW VOLCANO TO THE LAS VEGAS STRIP Superstar Terry Fator, Mayor Oscar Goodman and Grateful Dead Drummer Mickey Hart On Hand to Introduce New Iconic Attraction to the City Las Vegas · December 9, 2008 /PRNewswire/ — The Mirage once again set the standard for Strip-front attractions Monday as its redesigned signature Volcano premiered to the world. When The Mirage first unveiled The Volcano in 1989 the landscape of Las Vegas was forever altered. This all-new audio/visual spectacle again raises the bar with never-before-seen fire effects and an exclusive soundtrack composed by Grateful Dead drummer and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member Mickey Hart, and Indian tabla virtuoso Zakir Hussain. Celebrity impressionist, singer, comedian, ventriloquist and soon-to-be Mirage headliner Terry Fator acted as Master of Ceremonies for the historic reignition, which took place on the Las Vegas Strip at dusk. Fator was joined on stage by Grammy Award-winner Hart, as well as Mirage President Scott Sibella and Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman. Following the inaugural eruption, the Las Vegas sky was lit with celebratory fireworks from the top of The Volcano. In addition to commemorating the renovation of The Strip’s most enduring landmark, The Mirage used the opportunity to shine light on the value of music programs in local schools. In honor of the new Volcano and the exclusive soundtrack composed by Hart and Hussain, The Mirage made a donation to the Clark County School District to be used to support music in schools. “I would not be the musician I am today if I had not had the opportunity to embrace music at a young age,” said Hart. “And now I get to do things like put percussive sound to the image of fire and have it dance around a lagoon. That’s not something one gets to do everyday; to birth a volcano. Zakir and I immersed ourselves in the legends and myths and studied what really makes a volcano work. The result, a true union of the senses, will rattle your bones, just like a real volcano.” Tasked with bringing the latest innovations to the project, WET forged a primal volcanic environment of sound, light, music and heat. WET’s choreographed FireShooters – which send massive fireballs more than 12 feet into the air were designed specifically for The Mirage using the latest developments in flame-expression technology. The FireShooters punctuate the performances with eruptions of fiery “lava” that flow down the mountain’s fissures in a series of lively flames. As the eruption ignites the surrounding lagoon, the FireShooters bring Las Vegas’ signature blast within feet of spectators. “In its prior incarnation, the action stayed primarily on top of The Volcano,” said WET’s Director of Special Technologies Jim Doyle. “We’ve not only created a much more realistic eruption, but we’ve taken the action down into the Lagoon, where spectators will feel the heat on their faces.” Further enhancing the overall experience, The Volcano features a new Meyer Sound state-of-the-art sound system. An award-winning industry innovator, Meyer Sound is widely recognized for providing the gold standard in audio systems, as heard in theaters throughout the world, including The Mirage’s own LOVE Theater. With more than 60 Meyer Sound cabinets strategically placed throughout the lagoon, Hart and Hussain’s invigorating composition immerses guests in the volcanic rhythms. The new Volcano is the crowning jewel in a transformation project that began at the property in 2006. During the past three years, The Mirage has introduced new amenities including The Beatles’ LOVE™ by Cirque du Soleil, nightlife outposts JET Nightclub and The Beatles Revolution Lounge; the luxury adult pool BARE, and restaurants created by the world’s most acclaimed restaurateurs and designers. A recent $110 million room and suite redesign has further enhanced The Mirage’s leading-edge position. “Technology and the Las Vegas Strip have come a long way since 1989, making for an increasingly competitive tourism market,” said Sibella. “With tonight’s rebirth of our Volcano the exterior of the resort reflects the energy and excitement found within the new Mirage.” To discover more about The Volcano, see images and view interviews with the creators behind the magic, go to mirage.com.
