Las Vegas – Total Rewards Free Rooms. Which hotel is the best?

October 21st, 2009

Posted by admin in Ballys Las Vegas | 6 Comments »

Last time I was in Vegas I stayed at Ballys, and now I am returning since then and I free the comp/promo coupons. I have a choice of 3 free nights at Rio, Ballys, Flamingo, Harrah’s, or Imperial Palace. Or 2 free nights at Paris and the 3rd night being $85. Or Caesar’s which is $107 a night and totally out of the question. My question to you gamblers/travelers out of the free ones, which is the nicest? Or should I do Paris for the $85.

I know for sure I want to go to Toby Keith’s I Love this Bar, but I dont think that is justification enough to automatically pick Harrah’s. My boyfriend has never been to Vegas so he does not care. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Ok, I am not a fan of Harrah’s, but I can tell you my preferences.

Paris is a nice hotel, middle of the strip and pretty new. $85 dollars for a night is a good price. My first choice.

The Rio is a nice hotel, all suites, but off the strip. Plan to drive or take a cab if the strip is where you want to party. My second choice.

Ballys isn’t bad, though a bit older then the first two. It is on the strip as well and connected to the monorail (very long walk to the station though). My third choice.

The rest…Not going to comment, not worth it. Check out their webites for pictures of the rooms and location maps.

Hope this helps and have fun!

Any las vegas show ideas?

My husband and i are going to Las Vegas April 25-29th for a vacation away from the kiddos and my 25th birthday, does any one have any ideas for shows we can go to- ive been a couple times and this is my husbands first time, i know we are going to the price is right show at ballys, and the knights of the round table any other suggestions

First Happy Birthday!

I was just there a couple of weeks ago and this is what I did.

Went to:
Terry Fator, I believe the new must see show. Get your tickets only through the Mirage website before you go. I ran into some one who was scammed out of 800 bucks. Also his shows sell out so you need to get your tickets in advanced.

The Price Is Right, had a blast. It was based on the TV show but is handled a bit differently. The try to get as many people up to play as they can. Around 50 will play. I was drawn to do the show case show down. Both of us over bid.

The Mentalist at Hooters. Was a lot of fun, when I went, I signed up for their players card and was given a ticket to see the show for 10 bucks but that also gave me a drink.

Mesmerized at Planet Hollywood Shops. I bought a half price ticket from a ticket source. Had to exchange the voucher for a ticket before the show. Worked pretty well, but was told they were general admission so get there early for the best seats. The show was well worth the cost. He puts on a great hypnosis show.

Crazy Horse at MGM DO NOT WASTE your time or money. The show was lame and the employees I ran into were rude.

Fantasy at the Luxor. This is a topless show but very well done. The singer has a great voice and the show is well done. Don’t sit in the first 3 rows, they use a fog machine and the fog creeps into the audience which caused most of them to get up and move.

Mac King. An afternoon magic/comedy show. Watch for coupons, I believe you can find 2 for one tickets or something like that. It was a clean show and quite entertaining/funny.

Was at the Knights of Round table many years ago. It was great fun. Be prepared to eat with your hands. They don’t hand out silverware. Also, cheer and pound on the table. The more you are involved with the show, the better you will like it. The food was good back then, and have heard that it is still very good.

I didn’t see him, but Wayne Brady is a good show, my sister saw him in Feb. and enjoyed it. Tickets though are a bit pricey they thought.

If you have time take in a Cirque Du Soliel show.

Have fun!

Las vegas vacation, which hotel?

October 17th, 2009

Posted by admin in Ballys Las Vegas | 14 Comments »

I am looking into a vacation in las vegas for my boyfriend and I. I am looking for a nice hotel that is good for a couple. (Not for a crazy bachelor party!!) anyway which hotel would be best for us, Ballys? Luxor? or Paris hotel?
yea I do not want a party singles crowd, I want more of a family, relaxed hotel

I would say Paris or the Venetian, if you can afford them, then Luxor if you can’t. Luxor is considerably older than the other two, and last time I was there my room was definitely showing its age.

Enjoy your vacation!

Does the monorail in las vegas go in both directions?

October 15th, 2009

Posted by admin in Ballys Las Vegas | 10 Comments »

The monorail that makes these stops:

Imperial Palace
MGM Grand
Ballys
Flamingo
Harrah’s
Convention Center
Hilton
Sahara

and…does anyone know anything about the Imperial Palace? I’d also like to know if it’s really far to walk from Caesars palace to Bellagio?

Of course the monorail goes in both directions.

Imperial Palace is the lowest rated hotel on the strip but has a great location. If you reserve a room there stay away from the Capri rooms. They are a motel like building on the back of their property behind their parking garage. That is a real dump.

Caesars is directly accross the street ( Flamingo ) but is isn’t a quick walk. Here in Vegas it takes awhile to walk from one property to the next though it looks real close.

What is the best hotel in Las Vegas for value and is cheap rates.?

Last time i went I stayed in Ballys hotel in was really good but I would like to go to a themed hotel this time. Please help me out

For Themed try Caesars or Luxor. Caesars is not cheap but has the luxury of ancient Rome carried through out the entire property. Luxor will give you the cheaper rates but the theme isn’t carried out as well.
