Top Tourist Attractions in Northern Ireland

Summer is a fantastic time to visit Northern Ireland. As the springtime weather begins to clear up and tourists and locals alike get set to enjoy a brief respite from the otherwise traditionally gloomy British weather, Northern Ireland comes alive with summer activities. But even if the weather doesn’t seem so appealing, don’t let a spot of rain put you off! Northern Ireland is a country that both welcomes visitors to enjoy its sunny summer days while also inviting them into a friendly pub for a drink or two on those less pleasant ones, meaning you can rest assured a good time is never far away when you visit this fun and colourful country.

Wherever you’re heading in Northern Ireland, you can be sure that a good time is never too far away. And, in summer, plenty of excellent events and festivals occur that will have you easily filling up your time when you’re not exploring Belfast’s best bars! For example, you can take to the ocean on one of the summer fun cruises, which leave from Belfast and take tourists on an exciting trip across the waves to Stranraer. Many of the cruises have themes which can add that little bit extra to them, from family fun themes to a Vegas Casino Cruise – or even the practical Learn to Use Your Laptop Cruise.

Once you’re back on land, it’s time to head into Newtownards to take in the latest exhibition at the Exploris Aquarium, which is an excellent attraction in itself. Constantly working towards improving the educational aspect of its offerings, the aquarium offers a fascinating insight into local fish and aquatic plant life, as well as more international exhibits too.

Festival fans will enjoy a variety of events during summer, from the Dungannon Arts Festival and the Willowstone Arts and Music Festival to the Sea Bangor Festival and – a sure favourite – the Belfast Taste and Music Fest.

Northern Ireland is also famed for its rugged countryside and a visit to this unique country isn’t complete without a road trip around the coast. Rent a car and get exploring, stopping at the small towns and villages dotted around the Northern Irish coast in order to explore, work on your tan or, possibly more likely, escape from the rain before heading back to the capital city to spend a comfortable night in one of the Belfast hotels. Once you’re rested up and refreshed the next day, head out for an Ulster Fry for breakfast before another excellent day of exploration, sightseeing and getting to know some of the friendliest locals you’ll ever meet.

All About Collecting Sports Memorabilia

A collector of sports memorabilia has a large variety of aspects to consider when either starting, or expanding their collection. While some will direct their energy towards individual, star players, other will concentrate on items relating to “teams.” However, in whatever direction your interest takes you, there is plenty to keep you occupied!

A memorabilia collection based on successful professional sports men and women have always been popular amongst collectors. Collecting sports memorabilia is an international hobby and therefore, collectors will sometimes collect items relative to sports not popular in their own countries. For example, there are many collectors in the United Kingdom who have collections featuring famous past and present American football or baseball players.

The world of traditional football or soccer is today a huge worldwide phenomenon influenced by the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. This successful event created new sports memorabilia collectors who once bitten by the “collecting bug” are now hungry to pursue this fascinating hobby on a more extensive basis. Being a collector has no boundaries and part of the excitement of the hobby is communicating and exchanging information with other collectors the world over.

The collecting of articles used in competitions by a team or items from individual participants can be worth a great deal of money, as can autographs of famous sports-persons. In this regard, perhaps a word of warning is appropriate. This is a huge and lucrative business with fortunes traded across the world every day. It therefore attracts many fraudsters and cheats out to make some easy money from scamming unsuspecting collectors.

If you are a new collector and still finding your way, be aware of negotiating or buying from sellers who are not recognised. Fraudsters and cheats are continuously seeking inexperienced people whom they can dupe with items that are not genuine. However, many reputable and long established dealers will help and give you solid advice.

Some collectors relate their memorabilia collection to a certain individual in sport. They will acquire anything and everything associated with this particular sports-person. This is where a creative ability can help you and by being aware of items sold and bought on the market you can get a feel for the market. If you are looking at collecting sport memorabilia from a financial point of view then confining your collection to an individual could limit your expansion and lead to frustration. A point to remember is that many collectors do not intend to sell any part of their collection and collect purely for enjoyment.

Your knowledge of sport memorabilia will play a major part in your ability as a collector. It will make it possible for you to set your own standards of quality and market related costs. There are magazines and journals available to collectors and it is advisable for new collectors to subscribe to these. The study of authenticated and replica products will help you in observing market trends, especially when it comes to the price of items. It will also give you a further advantage by providing insight into what is in demand now and what is likely to be in the future.

Help with decorating an appetizer counter!!?

I am having a Casino party and having a caterer come but I am in charge of covering my kitchen counters nicely to display some of the appetizers. I bought solid black fabric to cover my counters and then a sheer red a little longer than the black to toss on top and make look nice. I need help on doing this… I was thinking of putting boxes underneath the cloths to add height… any ideas or pictures please!!

use a deck of cards to edge parts or hang them with fishing line above at different heights. Cheap idea too. Don’t be perfect-have then go up and down. You could even glue them in a circle and use it like a trivit etc. If you have a centerpiece or candle etc, you could use dice in the vase or glass. The boxes are a good idea too I think. You could also put white xmas lights under thr sheer red-it would look cool. Go check out Discovery home and HGTV-they both have party planner shows with sites and get ideas–HAVE FUN!

Stamp Collecting – not Just for Kids

Stamp Collecting – Not Just for Kids

Starting a stamp collection can be a rewarding and fun hobby. Not just for kids anymore, stamp collecting – or philately – has become one of the world’s oldest and most popular forms of collecting. The advantages of stamp collecting include:

• Learning about stamps which have been issued by other countries of the world over the years

• Appreciating stamps as works of art – colourful, well-printed, and well-designed

• Understanding the purpose of the stamp – whether it is to commemorate famous people or events, flowers, railways, flags, or space and sport

Stamp Collection

Stamp collections can provide both entertainment and education. By learning about all the stamps which have been issued by the countries of the world, you can begin to understand another country’s geography and history. Stamps collection is also a practical way to learn the politics, religion, and everyday way of life in different parts of the world. Stamps also open a world of education in a country’s postal services and postal history, transport systems, and the significance of postmarks.

Want to Start Collecting?

Many stamp collectors have advice for those looking to get into the stamp collecting scene, however, the best advice to the novice is to buy the largest packet of whole-world stamps you can afford. Also, consider buying with this purchase, a medium-priced album and some ‘hinges’ to mount the stamps. By buying a large amount of stamps at first, you can then go through most of the stamps, identifying those which you don’t believe you can find in the stamp collectors catalogue for identifying purposes.

Sources of Stamps

To keep your stamp collection moving along, there are several different types of stamps and locations to pursue:

• Persuade your friends to save your stamps from those letters mailed to them from abroad

• You can buy stamps from the UK Post – several times a year, the UK Post will issue special stamps for those interested in collecting

• There are several stamp magazines where you can see and meet other collectors

• Review the online stamp collecting websites for forums and discussion on where to get the latest stamp collection tips

Stamp Collecting and Increasing Worth

Over the years, as stamps age and their rarity increase, the worth of the stamp can increase tenfold. The condition of the stamp is vitally important to its worth. Nothing detracts more from the value of a stamp than a crease, tear, or heavy postmark. Damaged stamps are generally considered useless and worthless, so be wary of your collection when adding stamps.

If you are looking to make the most of your stamp collection, have unused stamps in their original gum as issued by the post office. Also, the ideal postmark is light and clear, as heavy postmarks decrease the value of the stamp by large amounts.

If you are already realizing that there is much more to stamp collecting then first thought, you are right! Stamp collecting can be extremely rewarding if you take the time to pursue it as a serious hobby. Consider learning more about your planet and start your stamp collection today.

How much should I sell my psp for on Craigslist.com?

I have an original PSP 1001 that comes with a 1gb SanDisk memory stick, charger, 3 games: Socom U.S. Navy Seals Fireteam Bravo, Dynasty Warriors, and Daxter, 2 movies: Walk Hard A Dewy Cox Story and 007 Casino Royale. The games and movies don’t come with cases so I was thinking maybe $125? Someone offered $110 and said take or leave it, but i don’t know if $110 is too low, or if I should go for it? Let me know.

I say 145
