They have already put slots in some of the racing facilities. Because of poor attendance in some facilities I can see why they would want to have something else for gamblers to draw on, but for me, I go to watch the races. I may place a small bet, but it is not the reason I go. And like you, to me Belmont is hallowed ground. Every time I go I picture the greats running on that historical track. I have met and talked with Ron Turcott, who was Secretariat’s jockey. Of course I ask him about his so very famous ride, and he is a very humble, nice man. Even if they do put slots in Belmont, I will still go, but certainly not for that.
